Rowing is a sport unlike no other. Get in touch with mother nature on the glorious Hunter River while learning a sport that builds cardiovascular fitness, strength and discipline. Demanding precise timing, sustained focus and commitment, rowing is a team sport like no other.
The low-impact nature of rowing is brilliant for people looking to try a sport that is inclusive and promotes progressive strength building with extraordinarily low injury rates, leaving you feeling fitter and stronger in your day-to-day life.
Whether you're looking for a social time with friends, to find a sporting club that is inclusive or somewhere to test your absolute limits, Rowing with NUBC caters to all your needs, find your place here.
To get the most out of the program, we encourage you to commit to all three sessions, it's a whole new world! Each session will build off the last, working at your pace so for that reason we can't say for sure what will be covered each week, however we will cover basic rowing sequencing and safe handling of equipment on land before heading on to the water with experienced rowers and coaches. From there will build on those skills throughout the sessions and hopefully have some fun races during the last session.
We will teach you everything you need to know. It's best wear clothing you are comfortable working out in and you won't be upset if it gets a bit wet. As rowing has a lot of moving parts we suggest shorts or tights on the bottom and something that isn't too baggy or can be tucked in on top. Bring a hat, water bottle, socks and shoes and we look forward to having a great time together.
