Welcome to Newcastle University Boat Club (NUBC) – Where Passion Meets the Water!
Newcastle University Boat Club is a welcoming and dynamic community, open to rowers of all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced athletes. Whether you’re looking to compete, stay active, or simply try something new, we offer quality coaching, a well-equipped fleet of boats, and a supportive team environment to help you achieve your goals.
Each year, we compete in over 10 regattas, including the prestigious UniSport Nationals, giving our members the chance to test their skills and represent the university on the water.
Train in a Stunning Location
Our training takes place at our beautiful rowing complex on the Hunter River at Berry Park, just 30 minutes from campus. Surrounded by rolling farmland, calm waters, and breathtaking views, our stretch of river provides the perfect setting for both high-performance training and relaxed recreational rows. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of gliding through the morning mist or watching the sun set over the water.
More Than Just Rowing
At NUBC, we believe in the power of community. Whether you’re training hard for competition or just enjoying a casual paddle, our club fosters friendship, teamwork, and a great social atmosphere. With regular team events, club dinners, and post-race celebrations, there’s always an opportunity to connect with fellow rowers and make lifelong memories.
