Hello, you are welcome here
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we row: the Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We pay our respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging—and honor the wisdom they have shared for generations.
Newcastle University Boat Club (NUBC) is a welcoming and inclusive sporting and social club, primarily for students and staff of Newcastle University. However, we embrace rowers of all ages and abilities—whether you're a competitive athlete, a casual fitness enthusiast, or someone simply looking to try something new.
Why Row with Us?
Rowing is more than just a sport—it’s a fantastic way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy the great outdoors. Our club caters to all skill levels, from total beginners to experienced rowers. No prior experience? No problem! Our friendly community will help you find your place on the water.
For those who love to compete, we regularly race in local regattas and take pride in sending a team to the UniSport Nationals each year. Prefer the social side of sport? Our club hosts fun events and gatherings throughout the year, making sure there’s always something exciting happening off the water too!
🚣♂️ Ready to give rowing a go? Whether you've been rowing for years or have never set foot in a boat, we'd love to have you. Shoot us an email at secretary@nubc.com.au or connect with us on Facebook and Instagram to learn more!
